Homeless men in shelter.
  • Believers are repeatedly instructed to love your neighbor as yourself (Lev. 19:18; Mat. 22:37-39; James 2:8).

  • Whoever is kind to the poor honors God; lends to the Lord (Prov. 14:31; 19:17)

  • Generous people share their food with the poor (Prov. 22:9)

  • Rich people and poor people have this in common; the Lord made us all (Prov. 22:2)

  • As often as you can, do good to all people, especially to believers. Let us not become weary in doing this, but continue to do good even when suffering. (1 Pet. 4:16-19)

Bless Someone Today!

Luke 10:30,33-37

In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.

But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.

He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.

The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

Teach a child to give.

Matthew 25:35-40

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’"
